This week, especially created for “classical music” lovers, is set in a most appropriate location: a magnificent and historic villa on a hilltop just outside Spoleto, home of the Festival of the Two Worlds (held each summer), Umbria. Your hosts, entertaining Italian musicians (with competent English!), Francesca Lanza, flutist and soprano, and Diego Mingolla, pianist, musicologist and composer, share with you their knowledge, musical talents and love for their professions. Quirky Olive’s itinerary promises a musical smorgasbord that includes intimate concerts in interesting locations (sacred music in a chapel, music under the stars), insights into the daily life of a musician, a musical soiree with French, German and Italian songs, operatic arias, informal lectures on composers and compositions, and more… Besides being immersed in the world of music, there will be time to relax and to explore the historic towns of Spoleto and Assisi.
